Since opening her first retail concept, Persnickety, in 2005, she has developed a signature approach rooted in thoughtful curation, layered detail, and a deep understanding of how people experience space. Her portfolio has grown through participation in several Designer Show Houses, recognition through multiple Detroit Design Awards, and features in Detroit Design Magazine, The BRICK, Michigan BLUE, and Hour Magazine.

Birch studied psychology at Michigan State University while simultaneously pursuing interior design—an educational foundation that continues to influence her work today.
